Karnataka: Big Changes in Gruha Jyothi Scheme

Government guarantee for Rs 4450 crore loan:

The cabinet has also decided to give a government guarantee for the Rs 4450 crore loan taken by the Karnataka Electricity Corporation. There is a lack of inflows for the loans that have been taken for many years. The electricity corporation had requested the government to give a guarantee. So the government has now spent Rs 4450 crore. HK Patil informed that it has been decided to guarantee the loan.

The debate is over the disputed amount to be paid by the power supply companies to YPCL. Also, there was a discussion about the order of the Central ERC and different legal opinions were expressed.
