Guest Lecturers good news: government increased salary up to Rs 8000

On Saturday, CM Siddaramaiah met Higher Education Minister Dr. M.C. Sudhakar and former MLC Puttanna discussed their demands with a delegation of guest lecturers. Our government has humanitarian concerns about guest lecturers. However, it is not possible to provide service security due to legal complications.

The Karnataka Chief Minister recalled that even when he was the leader of the opposition party, he raised his voice and demanded a salary hike on behalf of the guest lecturers. He said that the government has considered the demands of the guest lecturers very sympathetically. Guest lecturers in the state are protesting demanding an increase in their honorarium.

How much increase for whom: 

Rs 5000 for those with less than five years of service.

Rs 6000 for those with 5 to 10 years of service experience,

Rs 7000 for those with 10 to 15 years of service.

Rs 8000 for those with more than 15 years of service. CM Siddaramaiah said that the government is ready to increase the honorarium.

Along with the pay hike, many new offers have been announced at this time.

1. Implementation of health insurance facility of Rs 5 lakh per annum for guest lecturers.

2. Serving as a guest lecturer, maximum Rs 5 lakh as security after 60 years of age.

3. Grant of 1 day paid leave per month to Guest Lecturers whose workload exceeds 15 hours per week.

4. The Chief Minister has agreed to grant maternity leave with pay for three months.

5. Granting weightage based on their experience in recruitment,

6. Continuation of the Guest Lecturer in the same place where he was working, in the following year also.

7. It has also been agreed to simplify the counseling process.

Considering all these measures of the state government, the CM Siddaramaiah appealed to the protesting guest lecturers to immediately withdraw the protest and report to duty.

Higher Education Minister Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, Chief Minister’s Political Secretary K. Govindaraju, former Legislative Council member Puttanna, Deputy Chief Secretary to Chief Minister L.K. Atiq, Higher Education Department Secretary M.S. Srikar, Higher Education and Technical Education Department Commissioner G. Jagdish and other senior officers, representatives of guest lecturers attended the meeting.
