NPS Cancellation: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah made important announcement

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, said that the cancellation of National Pension Scheme will be discussed with the Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and the Cabinet members and a decision will be taken.

National Pension Scheme (NPS) has been canceled and Old Pension Scheme (OPS) has been implemented on the demand of Karnataka government employees for many days. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has made an important announcement today regarding the fulfillment of such a demand.

Officials of the Karnataka state government NPS Employees Association met him today and discussed the cancellation of National Pension Scheme. Speaking after this, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, said that the cancellation of National Pension Scheme will be discussed with the Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and the Cabinet members and a decision will be taken.

The possibilities of NPS cancellation will be discussed and a conclusion will be reached. The measures followed in other states where it has been repealed will also be reviewed. He said that the finance department will also check this thoroughly.

Deputy Chief Secretary to Chief Minister and Finance Department LK Ateek, Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. Trilok Chandra, SPS Employees Union President Shantaram Teja, Primary School Teachers Association President Nagesh and officials of various government associations were present.

“The NPS has been cancelled in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, and it should also be cancelled in Karnataka and the old pension scheme should be implemented. By cancelling NPS, a total of Rs 19,000 crore will be available under the scheme which can be used for development programs of the government.
