India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that an intense spell of rainfall has been predicted over Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during next 5 days. IMD issued heavy Rainfall alert in these states for next 5 days.

IMD issued heavy Rainfall alert very likely over Assam and Meghalaya and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during next 5 days and over Arunachal Pradesh during 7-9 June. Moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning very likely over Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep during next 5 days.

Scattered rainfall activity predicted over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during next 5 days Heavy rainfall likely over South Interior Karnataka during next 5 days, over Tamil Nadu on 6 and 7 June, over Kerala and Mahe on 5, 7, 8 and 9 and over North Interior Karnataka on 8 June

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated/scattered rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds is likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during the next five days.

Heat wave conditions in isolated places very likely over Jammu Division on 05 June. Rajasthan, south Punjab, south Haryana-Delhi, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana on 5 and 6 June. South Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and interior Odisha during 5-7 June

The IMD also warned that there is a possibility of rise in maximum temperatures by about 2°C over most parts of East India during next 3 days and no significant change thereafter.

Yesterday, Heat Wave Conditions observed in many places over Delhi and in isolated pockets over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, South Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, Eastern parts of Vidarbha, North Rajasthan, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Further, very heavy rainfall occurred over Assam and Meghalaya and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka on Saturday, according to IMD official statement.
