Heavy Rainfall Alert in these states for next 48 hours
Heavy Rainfall Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of rain in several states including Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar and West Bengal. The Meteorological Office said that the Heavy Rainfall Alert in these states for next 48 hours.
According to the IMD forecast, the region extends from Jammu and Kashmir to Bihar, to the northeast to West Bengal and from Kerala to Tamil Nadu. The weather office said the change in weather is mainly due to the circulation of two cyclones.

Kerala, Mahe and Karnataka: Moderate rains with thunder, lightning and squalls are likely. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The regional meteorological department has issued yellow and orange warnings for eight districts of Tamil Nadu – Tenkasi, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Nellai, Pudukkottai, Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram and Thiruvarur.
The state government has instructed schools and colleges to close if the situation worsens, warned fishermen not to venture into the sea and directed officials to keep an eye on any rising water levels. Lightning and snowfall are likely at some places in Jammu and Kashmir.
Coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep: Thunderstorms and lightning expected. Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Thunderstorms and Lightning Predicted. Cyclonic conditions are developing in the lower tropical regions over the Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh, leading to rainfall in the eastern, northeastern and southern states.

A developing West-Northwest Disturbance over western Afghanistan will bring rains to the north and northwestern regions of the subcontinent. If rains occur in Delhi, Delhi-NCR may get relief from high temperatures.
