Bakrid 2023: Two days Bank holidays in these cities

In observance of Bakrid or Eid-Al-Adha banks will remain closed on June 28 and June 29 in different states across the country. In June 2023, banks in various states will observe a total of 12 days of holidays, which includes all Sundays as well as the second and fourth Saturdays. It’s important to note that bank holidays may vary depending on the state. Cities observing a bank holiday on June 28 for Eid-Al-Adha or Bakrid are Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Cities observing a bank holiday on June 29 for Eid-Al-Adha or Bakrid are New Delhi, Srinagar, Chandigarh, Imphal, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Agartala, Bengaluru, Aizawl, Panaji, Patna, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Shillong, Shimla, Bhopal, Guwahati, Kanpur.

Bakrid 2023: Banks in these cities to remain closed on June 29

Branches will be non-functional in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, and Srinagar.

In the month of June, banks remained closed on various occasions including Y.M.A. Day/Raja Sankranti, Kang (Rathajatra)/Ratha Yatra, Kharchi Puja, Bakrid (Eid-Ul-Zuha), and Remna Ni.

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and the BSE will remain shut on June 29 on account of the Bakri Eid. Wholesale commodity markets, including metal and bullion, will also remain closed. There will be no trading activity in the forex and commodity futures markets either.

The stock market holiday for Bakri Id 2023 was revised by the NSE and the official website of the NSE has shifted the holiday from 28th June 2023 to 29th June 2029. On the reason for the change in stock market holiday, NSE notice said, “As per the attached notification of Maharashtra general administration department dated June 26, 2023.

Regarding the change in holiday on account of Bakri ID on June 29, 2023, and in partial modification in exchange circular dated December 8, 2022, members may kindly note the change in trading holiday in June 2023 from June 28, 20223 to June 29, 2023.”
