8th Pay Commission Implement: Huge increase in basic pay

The Central government will soon take an important decision on the 8th Pay Commission. After this, there will be a huge increase in the basic salary of government employees. Several lakh central government employees will benefit from this. The government will soon constitute the 8th Pay Commission for employees and its deliberations are going on at a brisk pace.

The 7th Pay Commission was last implemented in 2016. After the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, there has been a huge increase in the salaries of government employees. The government has not yet come out with any official decision regarding the 8th Pay Commission. However, reports say that the government will take a decision on this soon.

When will the 8th Pay Commission be constituted:

The government will make this important announcement before the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. If the 8th Pay Commission is formed now, it can be implemented by 2026. This will see a record rise in minimum basic wages.

Earlier, the government had increased the DA of central employees and pensioners by 4%. After this, DA received by the employees has increased to 46%. Even after this DA increase, the salary of government employees has increased.

Increase in fitment factor:

The government may significantly increase the fitment factor for central employees. It is said that the government may increase the fitment factor from 2.60 to 3.0 times. After this there will be a huge increase in basic pay.
Although the employees have been demanding to increase the fitment factor for a long time, the government has not taken an official decision in this regard. Now it is said that the government will soon approve this.
