When will the 8th Pay Commission be constituted:

The government will make this important announcement before the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. If the 8th Pay Commission is formed now, it can be implemented by 2026. This will see a record rise in minimum basic wages.

Earlier, the government had increased the DA of central employees and pensioners by 4%. After this, DA received by the employees has increased to 46%. Even after this DA increase, the salary of government employees has increased.

Increase in fitment factor:

The government may significantly increase the fitment factor for central employees. It is said that the government may increase the fitment factor from 2.60 to 3.0 times. After this there will be a huge increase in basic pay.
