Vivo Ignite 2026 Opens for Students with Scholarships Worth 40 Lakh
National level innovation program invites students from classes eight to twelve to submit technology based projects offering mentorship exposure and rewards while encouraging solutions aligned with global development goals

A major opportunity has opened up for school students across India as Vivo announces the fourth edition of its flagship education initiative Vivo Ignite 2026. The national level program is designed for students from classes eight to twelve, encouraging them to develop technology driven solutions for real world challenges.
The competition is structured as a multi stage process that takes participants from initial registration through to a national finale. This year, the final event is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on October 11, where the top finalists will present their working prototypes before an expert jury.
Registrations for the program began on April 21 and will remain open until June 30 through the official website. Students can participate individually or form teams of up to three members. Entries must be submitted under the prototype category, focusing on themes such as community development, soft tech innovation, agriculture, and climate related solutions.
What sets this initiative apart is its focus on impact. The program aligns with global Sustainable Development Goals, encouraging participants to think beyond classroom learning and address pressing societal issues through innovation. In previous editions, projects have explored areas like public safety and healthcare, showcasing how student ideas can translate into meaningful solutions.
This year, organizers have introduced new elements to widen participation. Students from government schools and aspirational districts will receive special consideration to ensure more inclusive representation. Additionally, a new stage called Achiever 30 has been introduced, where 30 shortlisted students from the top 200 entries will receive mentorship from experts and present their ideas virtually.
Teachers are also being recognized as part of the initiative. Under the Teacher Innovation Grant, selected educators who actively promote STEM learning or guide top performing students will receive financial support to continue their work.
The program is backed by several prominent knowledge partners, including NCERT, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, Science Olympiad Foundation, and UN Global Compact Network India. Their involvement adds credibility and ensures that participants receive exposure to high quality guidance.
The total prize pool for Vivo Ignite 2026 stands at 40 lakh rupees, which will be distributed as scholarships and rewards among the winners. Beyond financial incentives, the program also offers students a platform to showcase their ideas, gain mentorship, and explore careers in technology and innovation.
With strong participation in earlier editions, where thousands of schools and tens of thousands of students registered, Vivo Ignite has steadily grown into one of the country’s prominent student innovation platforms. As registrations continue, the focus now shifts to discovering the next set of young innovators ready to tackle real world challenges with creative thinking and technology.
