New Delhi: Sources said that Tata has already started negotiations for space to open stores near malls and streets.It is reported that Tata Group will soon start 100 small exclusive Apple Stores across the country . Apple stores of 500-600 square feet area will be opened in shopping malls, famous places and nearby areas. These stores will be smaller than Apple’s premium reseller stores, according to the ‘ Economic Times ‘ report. The premium reseller stores have an area of 1,000 square feet. Small stores sell iPhones, iPads and watches, the report said.

A retail consultant said Tata has already started negotiations for space to open stores near malls and streets. The report mentions that Apple’s first company-owned store is expected to open in Mumbai in March.It will benefit the partners and retailers from company owned stores. It is said that Apple has already informed the local franchise partners that the sales will increase.

Cybermedia Research (CMR) said that 17 lakh iPhones were sold in the country between July and September. Apple is keen to increase sales and increase production capacity in India.Apple has instructed Wistron, Paxcon and Pegatron to triple production in India over the next two years, according to a ‘ Live Mint ‘ report. Wistron, Paxcon and Pegatron manufacture the iPhone in India. The report said that tripling the production would help exports of the iPhone made in India.
