The state government has not made any proposal regarding salary revision of government employees in this budget, protesting against this, 5.11 lakh employees will go on an indefinite strike from tomorrow, demanding cancellation of the New Pension Policy (NPS). This will cause a difference in school-college, waste disposal, revenue and health services.

Gram panchayat staff, urban local bodies, BBMP permanent civil workers, deputy registrar office staff have indicated their support for the strike called by the employees union. Staff from Village Accountant to Additional Collector are absent from duty and most of the services will be interrupted.

Karnataka Government Employees Association, Forest Department employees, employees of various corporation boards are participating, registration of vehicles and license distribution in the Regional Transport Department will be stopped.

See What’s Open, What’s closed: Emergency treatment, inpatient care services available in government hospitals. The employees of the State Road Transport Corporation will go on strike to fulfill their demands. Bus traffic will be as usual. Classes in universities will continue as usual.

There will be disruption in garbage collection, closure of schools and colleges, non-availability of outpatient services in government hospitals, suspension of property registration, closure of Tahsildar office.

In the circular issued by the employees union, it has been stated that during the strike, employees cannot protest, hunger strike, dharna and shout slogans against the government, not to respond to the media against the government.
