Karnataka Budget Live Updates: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds the finance portfolio, is presenting his record 16th budget on Friday (March 7). In budget CM Siddaramaiah given good news to school students and teachers.

The budget size is expected to reach Rs 4 lakh crore, a significant increase compared to Rs 3.71 lakh crore in the previous year. The first legislative session of the year, which began on March 3, began with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s address to the joint session of the state legislature.

Despite internal demands within the Congress to cut spending on the five guarantees, the Chief Minister has firmly stated that there is no plan to reduce funds for these welfare schemes, which were allocated Rs 52,000 crore in last year’s budget.

Education, infrastructure in focus:

Education and health services have been identified as priority sectors, with increased allocations aimed at improving access and quality. Additionally, the budget seeks to enhance infrastructure in cities and towns, providing greater financial support for urban development to address growing civic challenges.
