Now Punjab National Bank has brought you a special offer in which you will get brand new notes. The bank has given information about these rupee notes through a tweet. In its official tweet, PNB wrote that if you want to exchange old or defaced notes, now you can easily do this.

Bank said you can contact your nearest branch. Here you can exchange notes and coins. According to the new rules of the Reserve Bank, if you too have old or defaced notes, you need not worry. Now you can exchange such notes by visiting any branch of the bank.

If any bank employee refuses to exchange your note, you can complain about it. You must remember that the worse the condition of a note, the lower its value.

Under what circumstances are notes exchanged?

According to RBI, any torn note is accepted only if one part is missing or if it consists of more than two pieces and no essential part of it is missing.

Some special parts of currency note like name of issuing authority, guarantee and assurance clause, signature, Ashoka Pillar, a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, If watermarks are also missing, your note will not be exchanged. Soiled notes which are unfit for use due to long circulation in the market can also be replaced.

Such notes can be exchanged from the RBI office. Notes that are too burnt can be replaced or even notes that are stuck together. If the bank does not take them, you have to take them to the issue office of RBI.
