In the wake of rising H3N2 and COVID cases across the state, the Karnataka government planning taking all precaution measure. H3N2 Alert in Karnataka: CM Bommai hints strict restriction. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday said the H3N2 influenza situation in Karnataka was not alarming.

But added that a high-level meeting in the regard will soon be convened and guidelines will be issued for the entire State. Fielding reporters’ queries in this regard at Mysuru airport on Tuesday CM Basavaraj Bommai, however, said the Centre has asked the State to take necessary precautions.

The Government has already issued necessary directions to stock the medicine for tackling H3N2. Though wearing of mask had not been made mandatory in the State, CM Bommai said he would await the recommendations of a high-level meeting of experts in this regard and take note of decisions taken in other places over the H3N2 influenza.

H3N2 Alert in Karnataka Speaking to reporters, Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said that, “We’ve also advised children, people above 65 years of age who have comorbidities & pregnant women to take preventive measures and avoid the unnecessary crowd and undertake hygiene protocols.”

To avoid heatstroke, the government has issued a separate advisory. We have also discussed the heatwave and increase in temperature. We want to avoid heatstroke. We have issued an advisory”, said the health minister. The government advised people to stay hydrated by consuming at least 2-3 litres of water daily. Moreover, he advised them to add buttermilk, tender coconut, and lemon juice to their diet.
