Covid cases in India: Central Government instructs for mock drill in hospitals on April 10, 11

New Delhi: Amid the rising number of Covid cases, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday asked states to be vigilant and prepared for handling Covid. Mansukh Mandaviya reviewed the Covid situation and directed states to identify emergency hotspots, increase testing, ensure hospital infrastructure readiness. States have been directed to identify emergency hotspots, increase testing, increase vaccination and ensure readiness of hospital infrastructure. While 6,050 new cases were reported in India alone yesterday, the number of active cases stood at 28,303 on Friday. Covid cases in India have seen an upward trend in the past few days, with daily new infections ranging from 2,994 on April 1 to 3,824 cases on April 2 and 3,641 cases on April 3 and 3038 cases on April 4 and 4,435 cases on April 5.
