Covid cases continue to rise in the country; More than 3,000 cases detected in a single day

New Delhi: 3,016 new Covid cases have been registered in India in the last 24 hours. Up 40 percent since yesterday. Daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.7 percent and weekly positivity rate was 1.71 percent. The country’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 5,30,862 with 14 deaths. Active cases now comprise 0.03 percent of total infections. Covid cases continue to rise in the country; More than 3,000 cases detected in a single day.

However, the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.78 percent, according to the Ministry of Health website. Several states have planned to hold emergency meetings this week on the alarming rise in Covid cases. Delhi reported 300 cases in the last 24 hours after the number of infected people dropped to 0 on January 16.

Several districts of Maharashtra like Mumbai, Pune, Thane and Sangli have also seen a sharp rise in Covid cases. India on Thursday witnessed a 50% jump in daily Covid infections with 3,016 new cases. Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate rises to 2.73%. Stay here for all live updates.
