Bengaluru Metro will start Rapid Common Mobility Card in Bengaluru: Details

Bengaluru Metro: The National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) will soon be introduced in the city, Bengaluru Metro Corporation said in a press release. Metro Corporation (BMRCL) has said that the new cards will be introduced as part of the ‘One Country One Card’ scheme launched by the Central Government. Bengaluru Metro will start Rapid Common Mobility Card in Bengaluru.

These transport cards can be used in various state transport corporations and metro and other transport systems. The BMRCL said on Wednesday that these cards will be implemented in Bengaluru metro from 2023. Last December 2022, 1.69 crore passengers travelled in metro trains.

The corporation had earned a revenue of Rs 40.30 crore. The highest number of passengers (6.41 lakh) traveled in metro trains on New Year’s Day (D31-J1). The Mumbai Metro Corporation had introduced Common Mobility Cards earlier this month.

But there have been rumors for a long time that this project will start in Bengaluru. Once this scheme is launched, a single card can be used for BMTC buses and metro trains. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this card in March 2019.
