
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that coastal Karnataka districts are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms until October 10. IMD Issued Rainfall Alert In Karnataka For Next 4 days.
The southwest monsoon system continues to influence weather conditions across Karnataka, with intermittent rainfall expected in several parts of the state over the next few days.
A yellow alert has been issued for nine districts — Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Rural, and Bengaluru Urban — due to the possibility of heavy rainfall in these areas tomorrow.
The coastal districts, including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada, may experience scattered showers, particularly during the evening and night hours. Residents in these areas have been advised to remain cautious as sudden rainfall and gusty winds are possible in some locations.
The Malnad region is also expected to receive rainfall at isolated places due to favourable weather conditions. Districts such as Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Kodagu are likely to witness increased rainfall activity, following which the intensity may gradually reduce from October 8.
Meanwhile, farmers across Karnataka have been advised to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions to protect standing crops. The agriculture department has suggested avoiding harvesting activities during periods of heavy rain and ensuring proper drainage in agricultural fields.
The weather department has also stated that dry conditions are likely to prevail in several northern and central Karnataka districts, including Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, and Yadgir.
