Heavy Rainfall Alert in Karnataka For Next Five Days
According to the latest report from the weather department, there is a strong possibility of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds across several parts of the state until June 9.
Heavy Rainfall Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across Karnataka for the next five days as southwest monsoon winds intensify over the state. The IMD has urged the public to take necessary precautions, warning that the intensity of wind and rain will be particularly high in the Northern and Kalyana Karnataka regions.
According to the latest report from the weather department, there is a strong possibility of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds across several parts of the state until June 9. In light of this, authorities have issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for 11 major districts of Kalyana Karnataka and North Karnataka, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Belagavi, Raichur, Koppal, Gadag, Dharwad, and Haveri.
The report also predicts hailstorms in some parts of North and South Interior Karnataka, causing severe anxiety among farmers. As this could potentially destroy standing crops, agricultural experts have advised farmers to remain cautious regarding their farming activities.
Meanwhile, rainfall is expected to continue in the coastal and Malnad districts, including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, and Kodagu. A strict warning has been issued to fishermen not to venture into the sea under any circumstances due to intensifying high waves.
In the state capital, Bengaluru, cloudy weather has persisted for the past few days, and the volume of rainfall is expected to increase further from next week. Moderate rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds is anticipated in several areas of the city during the evening and night hours.
