Bantwal Murder Case: Tension has increased in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district following the murder of Abdul Rahim alias Imtiaz, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has instructed the police to thoroughly investigate the case and arrest the culprits, he said. Regarding Bantwal murder case The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the case, naming 15 people. An FIR has been registered at the Bantwal Rural Police Station based on the complaint of Muhammad Nissar, who admitted the injured to the hospital.

Information provided by Qalandar Shafi, who survived the attack and is currently receiving treatment, supported Nissar’s complaint. The state government has studied a series of murder cases in Dakshina Kannada district and failed to permanently establish peace on the coast.

Chief minister Siddaramaiah visited senior Congress leader and MLC B K Hariprasad at his residence in Bengaluru on Thursday morning and reportedly held a serious discussion on the prevailing situation in the coastal region.
During the meeting, they are said to have discussed in detail the recent spate of murders, incidents of violence, provocative speeches, and the deteriorating law and order situation in Dakshina Kannada district. The chief minister is said to have sought Hariprasad’s advice on steps to immediately curb communal violence and overhaul the policing system in the district.

Based on the discussion, a decision has reportedly been taken to immediately transfer both the superintendent of police of Dakshina Kannada and the police commissioner of Mangaluru. They also reportedly deliberated on what needs to be done for a comprehensive reform of the district’s police administration.
Sources added that the possibility of B K Hariprasad being inducted into the cabinet soon was also discussed during the meeting. The chief minister was accompanied by his political secretary Naseer Ahmed, minister Zameer Ahmed, and others.
