
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has launched a major recruitment drive, opening applications for a total of 6,684 vacancies in different railway zones across the country. The recruitment includes 119 Section Controller posts and 6,565 Technician positions, creating significant opportunities for candidates seeking careers in Indian Railways.
Applications for the Section Controller posts will begin on July 15, 2026, and remain open until August 14, 2026. These vacancies are being filled under CEN No. 03/2026, and candidates holding a recognized bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply.
Applicants for the Section Controller posts must be between 20 and 30 years of age as of July 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be available for candidates belonging to reserved categories in accordance with Government of India rules.
Selected candidates for the Section Controller role will receive a starting basic pay of ₹35,400 per month, along with applicable allowances under central government norms. The application fee is ₹500 for general candidates, while women, SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen, transgender candidates, and economically weaker category applicants need to pay ₹250. Eligible candidates who appear for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) will receive a partial fee refund as per recruitment guidelines.
Apart from these vacancies, RRB has also announced recruitment for 6,565 Technician posts. Candidates possessing ITI, diploma, or relevant degree qualifications can apply. The last date to submit applications for Technician posts is July 29, 2026.
The recruitment process will include a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by document verification and a medical examination. Candidates are advised to read the official notification carefully to verify eligibility, educational qualifications, age criteria, and other recruitment conditions before submitting their applications.
