KVS Recruitment 2026: Apply online for 987 teachers posts

KVS Recruitment 2026: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has recently issued a short notification for the recruitment of 987 Special Educators for the 2026-27 academic session. This is a significant move toward making education more inclusive across its nationwide network of schools.

The vacancies are split almost evenly between the Primary and Trained Graduate Teacher levels:

Special Educator (PRT): 494 posts

Special Educator (TGT): 493 posts

Eligibility & Selection Details: While the detailed notification is expected to be uploaded to the official KVS website in early February 2026, the preliminary criteria based on the short notice and standard KVS rules are as follows:

Educational Qualifications: (Post, Academic Requirement, Professional Requirement, Mandatory): PRTClass – 12 with 50% marks2-year Diploma in Special Education – CTET Paper-1

TGT – Graduation with 50% marks – B.Ed. in Special Education (or B.Ed. General + 1-year Special Ed Diploma) – CTET Paper-II

Note: Candidates for TGT must also have a valid registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

Age Limit (General Category)PRT: Maximum 30 yearsTGT: Maximum 35 yearsAge relaxations apply (e.g., 10 years for women, 5 years for SC/ST, and 3 years for OBC).

Selection Process: The recruitment follows a two-tier system:Computer-Based Test (CBT): A 180-mark objective exam covering General English, Hindi, Reasoning, Perspectives on Education, and Subject Knowledge.

    Professional Competence Test: Includes a teaching demo and an interview (60 marks total).

    Final Merit: Usually calculated with a 70:30 weightage (Written: Interview).

    Next Steps: Applications are likely to begin in February 2026 through the official portal at kvsangathan.nic.in.
