Karnataka to Recruit AI Guest Teachers for 1,642 Government High Schools
Each selected school will appoint one AI Guest Teacher through a transparent recruitment process conducted at the school level. The selected candidates will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 20,000.

The Karnataka Government has decided to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) under Skill Education in government high schools from the 2026-27 academic year through Samagra Shikshana Karnataka.
In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, AI will be introduced as part of Skill Education in place of the third language in 1,642 government high schools across the state. The government has also issued guidelines for the recruitment of AI Guest Teachers to teach the subject.
Each selected school will appoint one AI Guest Teacher through a transparent recruitment process conducted at the school level. The selected candidates will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 20,000.
The recruitment will be carried out by a selection committee headed by the School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC) President, which will shortlist eligible candidates through interviews.
Recruitment Deadline: July 28
The government has directed that the entire recruitment process must be completed on or before July 28, 2026, without any delay. Selected teachers will undergo training during the first week of August before taking up their responsibilities.
The circular also warns that if any irregularities, fraudulent appointments, or fake documents are found during the recruitment process, the school head and members of the selection committee will be held accountable.
Educational Qualifications Required:
Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:
Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology
Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
B.Sc. in Computer Science
B.Sc. in Information Technology (IT)
Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA)
DOEACC ‘A’ Level Certificate
Additional Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants should also meet the following requirements:
Minimum one year of work experience in the relevant field.
Ability to communicate effectively in English and Kannada.
Basic technical and computer skills.
