Breaking: Commanding Officer and Family total 7 Killed in Militant Attack in Manipur

Four soldiers and the commanding officer of 46 Assam Rifles along with his son and wife were killed in an ambush by militants in Manipur’s Singhat on Saturday. Three injured in the incident were taken to Behiang Primary Health Centre.

Initial reports suggest that Manipur-based People’s Liberation Army could be behind the attack. The convoy of a Commanding Officer of an Assam Rifles unit was ambushed by militants in Singhat sub-division of Manipur’s Churachandpur district.

Family members of officer along with Quick Reaction Team were in the convoy. The operation is underway.

In another case, Indian-Origin Student Among 9 Killed in Astroworld Festival tragedy

A 22-year-old Indian-origin student has succumbed to her injuries sustained during the deadly crowd surge at rapper Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival here, taking the death toll in the tragedy to 9, her family has said.

Bharati Shahani, who was about to graduate from Texas A&M University in the spring, died on Wednesday night after suffering a severe brain injury in the tragedy on November 5. She was on a ventilator, according to her family.
