IIT Delhi UAE Campus: PM Modi visits, signs historic agreement

IIT Delhi UAE Campus: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to UAE has given a big gift to people of Indian origin living in UAE. A historic agreement was signed between the Government of India and the UAE in connection with the Prime Minister’s visit.

Indian and United Arab Emirates today signed an agreement to establish a campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in Abu Dhabi. The union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan signed the pact with his UAE’s minister of state for early education Sara Musallam in presence of prime minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The PM is on a day-long visit to UAE. The Union ministry of education has entered into a pact with Abu Dhabi department of education and knowledge. The IIT Delhi will start postgraduate courses at the new campus in January 2024 and bachelor-level programmes in September 2

A few days ago Pradhan had said that the establishment of IIT Delhi campus in Abu Dhabi is a matter of happiness. “This initiative is a reflection of the successful leadership of the two countries. This will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries in the field of education,” he had said.

 IIT Delhi was ranked second in the National Institute Ranking Framework, NIRF 2023, among all the engineering colleges in the country. It secured three position in research and overall category in the NIRF 2023.
