Puneeth Rajkumar Satellite: Minister gave Big update on launch of Appu satellite

Karnataka Minister NS Bosaraju held a meeting with members of the Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA) on Thursday in Bengaluru on the progress of the Puneeth satellite project. Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar name Appu satellite is expected to be launched in the month of March 2024.

Students are trained on CubeSat subsystems. The minister explained that the students are working on developing the secondary payload to be carried on the Puneeth satellite.

Coordination with ISRO:

Prototypes of CubeSat subsystems trained by students are currently being validated by evaluation boards. Then the necessary changes will be implemented, he said. The Minister directed the Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA) to coordinate with ISRO in obtaining necessary approvals.

ITCA team members informed the Minister that the project will provide students with hands-on experience in building and launching satellites that will foster interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.

Indian Technology Congress Association will launch 75 satellites. Among the 75 satellites, one named Appu was built by government school children. Karnataka government has signed an agreement with ITCA.
