IFFI ready to pay tribute to Puneeth Rajkumar: Salman Khan and other top Actors will attend

While the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will be inaugurated by Minister of Information and Broadcasting, it will open with a star-studded inaugural ceremony, comprising a guest list of Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor, among others.

Karan Johar and Manish Paul will be hosting the event. Hema Malini, actress and Member of Parliament from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, and Prasoon Joshi, lyricist and chairperson of CBFC, will be conferred the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award for 2021 at the festival.

Two global cinematic giants, Martin Scorsese and Istevan Szabo, will be honoured with the first Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, informed the Festival Director. The 52nd IFFI will witness OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, Zee5 and Viacom participating in the festival, with releases, masterclasses and more.

In another first, delegates will get to attend a three-day virtual masterclass organised by the renowned Paris-based school of image and arts, Gobelins, L’École de L’Image. The BRICS Film Festival is also being held on the sidelines of IFFI for the first time. There will be a special package presenting films from five countries.

The 52nd edition of IFFI will pay tribute to the late Dilip Kumar, filmmaker Sumitra Bhave, filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta, actress Surekha Sikri, actor Sanchari Vijay, and Kannada superstar Puneet Rajkumar.

Tributes will also be paid to international stalwarts including French director Bertrand Tavernier, Hollywood star Christopher Plummer, French novelist, actor and Oscar-winning screenwriter Jean-Claude Carriere and the French New Wave auteur Jean-Paul Belmondo by showcasing their films in the Homage section.
