Heavy Rainfall in Dakshina Kannada: Announced School Holiday for tomorrow

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the occurrence of very heavy rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in the coastal region. As a result, a red alert has been declared from the afternoon of July 4 until 8:30 am on July 5. Heavy Rainfall in Dakshina Kannada: Announced School Holiday for tomorrow (July 5 ).

Post the noon of July 4, strong winds have been predicted in Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi districts for a few hours. In addition, widespread rain is expected to continue in the inland districts of Shivamogga, Kodagu, Hassan, and Chikmagalur for the next two days. Consequently, an orange alert has been issued for those districts.

As a precautionary measure Dakshina kannada District Collector announced all schools and colleges holiday for tomorrow (July 5). The IMD have predicted light to moderate intensity rainfall in South India during the next 5 days while heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in the next 5 days.
