A couple committed suicide in Mandya

Mandya: The incident of a couple committing suicide due to a family dispute took place in K. Shettyhalli village of Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district. Purushottama (45) and Vidya (32) are the unlucky ones who died. It has been learned that Purushottam and Vidya committed suicide by hanging themselves after getting fed up with the quarrel between the couple.

While the wife committed suicide by hanging herself at home when the husband went to work, the husband came home and went to the farm next to the house and hanged himself. The deceased Purushottam was working in a private company in Mysore.

The deceased couple has two children aged 7 and 5 years. Now the children have lost their parents and become orphans. The police have visited the place of the incident and conducted an investigation. The dead bodies have been shifted to the government hospital mortuary. A case has been registered in Srirangapatna rural police station in this regard.
