Rajahmundry: In a tragic incident, five killed and several severely injured after a van carrying 30 persons turned turtle after attending a wedding ceremony at Kalyana Venkateshwara Swamy temple.
The shocking incident took place in Thantikonda, Gokavaram Mandal. According to the sources, after completion of wedding rituals at Kalyana Venkateshwara Swamy temple, nearly thirty people returned in a van but it lost its control due to the brake failure and turned turtle in the ghat road.
As per reports, five people died and several severely injured. After getting the information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to the nearby hospital. A pall of gloom descended over the villages of bride and groom after the incident.
