Shraddha Walker murder case: Polygraph test for Aftab today

New Delhi: The weapon used in Aftab Poonawala’s murder, Shraddha’s skull, clothes and phone are yet to be recovered. The investigation of the murder case of Shraddha Walker, who killed her lover and cut her into 38 pieces, has been speeded up. Aftab Poonawala, the accused of Shraddha’s murder, has already been arrested by the police and has been subjected to intensive interrogation.

But as the accused did not provide all the information, Delhi Police decided to subject him to polygraph test today. Aftab Poonawala, who had love drama with Shraddha Walker, who worked together in a private company in Delhi, later murdered her at home and cut her body into 38 pieces. Every day he used to throw pieces to the animals in the forest.

Aftab was acting as if nothing had happened. But now the case of murder has come to light due to the complaint filed by the parents. Delhi Police arrested the accused. The forensic lab report says that the bones found in the forest are human bones. But her body has not been found yet. The police have not yet found any important evidence as the accused has been giving occasional statements.

For this reason, the police have decided to subject the accused to a polygraph test. A polygraph test is likely to be conducted today.On the other hand, the weapon used in Aftab Poonawala’s murder, Shraddha’s skull, clothes and phone are yet to be recovered. Hence, it is possible that Aftab will request to extend the period of police custody for more days.

A public interest petition was filed in the Delhi High Court on Monday seeking a direction to transfer the investigation into the Shraddha Walker murder case from the Delhi Police to the CBI, alleging that the presence of the media and public at the recovery sites would spoil evidence.

The petition, which is likely to be listed for hearing on Wednesday, alleges that the Delhi Police has so far disclosed every detail of the investigation to the media and public without obtaining permission under law. Also, Delhi Police has not sealed the crime scene till now. It is also alleged that members of the public and media personnel are constantly entering.
