Mysuru: Mysuru city police have launched a hunt for Manjunath K S alias ‘Santro Ravi’, who has been booked under various charges of IPC, including rape, ST/ST Atrocities Prevention Act, and dowry prohibition act. Vijayanagar police have formed a team of officers to trace and arrest him, while another team is probing the allegations made against him by a woman complainant. She has charged him with raping her.An officer said she was subjected to a medical examination, and evidence is being gathered in this regard. The woman has claimed that she was drugged, raped, and then lured with an offer of marriage.
Police commissioner Ramesh Banoth that city police have launched an investigation against Manjunath. “One team is searching for him, while another is gathering evidence in connection with the complaint,” the top cop added.
This comes after Manjunath was accused of having close links with some of the influential lawmakers and playing a major role in toppling the coalition government headed by H D Kumaraswamy.
