Bengaluru: The sensational case involving the alleged murder of dermatologist Dr. Kruthika Reddy by her husband Dr. Mahendra Reddy has taken a shocking new turn. While it was initially believed that Mahendra killed his wife by injecting anesthesia due to her undisclosed health issues, investigators are now probing whether an extramarital affair may have been the real motive.
According to police sources, both Kruthika and Mahendra hailed from affluent families. Kruthika’s father, Muni Reddy, owns several commercial complexes in Marathahalli, earning nearly βΉ10-15 lakh per month in rent. He had also extended financial support to his daughter for setting up a large dermatology clinic in Bengaluru.
Following Kruthika’s mysterious death, her father filed a complaint at the Marathahalli Police Station, expressing suspicions that Mahendra maintained close relations with several young women. The FIR mentions that Kruthika might have learned about her husband’s affairs shortly before her death, leading to heated arguments between the couple. Police are investigating whether Mahendra decided to eliminate her to protect his image and conceal his alleged infidelity.
Investigators are also exploring digital evidence β including phone records, chat messages, and CCTV footage β to trace Mahendra’s interactions with other women. Sources revealed that Mahendra was often seen meeting certain female colleagues outside work hours, strengthening the suspicion of an affair.
Both doctors were working at Victoria Hospital Mahendra as a general surgeon and Kruthika as a dermatologist. Their marriage took place in a grand ceremony on April 23, 2024, barely six months before her death.
While Mahendra remains in police custody, officials are preparing to question several individuals linked to him socially and professionally. The emerging angle of betrayal and deception behind a faΓ§ade of marital harmony has left Bengaluru’s medical fraternity deeply disturbed, as investigators continue to unravel the dark truth behind Dr. Kruthika’s tragic end.
