In a similar incident to the Shraddha Walkar murder in Delhi, where the accused strangled, chopped his live-in partner into 35 pieces and then dumped those pieces at different places in Mehrauli forest, a man in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol cut his wife into two and buried those parts at different places in a forest.

The deceased was identified as Saraswati Patel and her husband, the accused as Ram Kishore Patel. The accused allegedly killed his wife with an axe on suspicion of infidelity. The incident came to light when a man filed a missing complaint about his brother and sister-in-law on November 13. Police registered a case and started the investigation.

Then, on November 15, the police received information that a woman’s clothes had been found in the forest near the village.Upon further investigation, police found out that the clothes belonged to the missing woman. A search operation was launched in the forest and a head was found buried in a place. A little away from that place, a torso was also found.

The body parts were of the missing woman, Saraswati. A murder case was registered and the accused was arrested in the Kareli area of Narsinghpur, MP. According to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Kumar Prateek, “The accused has admitted to the crime. In the statement given to the police, he said that he doubted his wife’s character, so he took her to the forest and beheaded her with an axe. After that, he buried the head and torso separately. The police have also seized the axe used in the murder.”
