Karnataka: CBI detains former Congress minister Vinay Kulkarni in murder case

Dharwad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has detained former Karnataka minister and Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni and taken him into custody for interrogation.

In connection with the 2016 murder case of Yogesh Gowda, a member of the Dharwad District Panchayat.

On June 15, 2016, Yogesh Gowda a vocal critic of Kulkarni had been hacked to death by five miscreants at Saptapur in Dharwad while he was in a gym. The CCTV installed on premises had captured the entire act.

The five miscreants were identified as close associates of Kulkarni who was then a minister.Gowda was allegedly murdered over a property dispute.

The police had arrested seven persons in connection with the case, which was handed over to the CBI. In March, the agency had informed that it has nabbed six accused in the case.
