Hindu youths sexual assault to Muslim girl in Bhatkal: case filed against 7 people

The incident of sexual assault of a Muslim young woman by Hindu youths in Bhatkal has come to light of late. Yesterday (April 20) a young Muslim woman boarded an auto to go from Ramzan Market in Bhatkala Nagar of the district. At this time, some young men who were near the auto station sexually assaulted the young woman.

A fight started between the two on this issue and the police reached the spot and arrested the youth who had committed sexual violence and took them to the police station in a police vehicle. While going like this, the Muslim youth pelted stones in anger. A case has been registered in this regard at Bhatkala Shahra police station.

In connection with this incident, seven people including two Hindu youths have been detained by the police. Chandra Gond, a resident of Hadlur, and Ravindra Naik of Sarpanakatta have behaved indecently with the woman. Besides, a case has also been registered against five people including Mohammad Meera and Mohammad Imran Sheikh of Sultan Street who pelted stones at the police vehicle and obstructed the duty.
