An honor killing took place in Kuditini town of the district. The father killed his daughter because she loved a foreigner. A man named Omkara Gowda killed his daughter by pushing her into the HLC canal because she fell in love with a foreigner. Later he confessed to the police.
The accused Omkara Gowda family lives in Budga Jangama Colony of Kuduthini town. Omkara Gowda’s daughter, who was studying in high school, fell in love with a foreigner. As soon as the family came to know about this, they were warned to stay away from the young man. Suspecting that she was still having an affair with a young man, Omkara Gowda killed his own daughter in a cinematic manner.
On the afternoon of October 31, he took his daughter on a bike to show a movie. But when I went to the cinema, the movie started. From there, he was taken to the hotel and had breakfast, then he visited the big Basaveshwara temple and then he gave a pair of earrings and a ring to his daughter in a jewellery shop. After all this, it was night by the time I returned home.

At this time the father took time to bring the daughter near the HLC canal, stopped for a while, said he had work, and disappeared. Then he came from behind and pushed the daughter into the canal. The girl shouted “Daddy, Daddy” and washed herself in the water. After that, Omkara Gowda left the bike at his friend Bhimappa’s house and took a train to Tirupati. Omkara Gowda was arrested by the police near Koppal when he was returning after visiting Tirupati. The police are searching the HLC canal for the dead body of the girl.
