Bus collides with truck in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa:15 killed, 40 injured

At least 15 people died and 40 others sustained grave injuries after a bus collided with a trolley truck in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa. The accident took place on National Highway 30 on Friday around 11.30 pm. Bus collides with truck in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa:15 killed, 40 injured.

Police said a few passersby had informed them about the incident and officials from the Sohagi police station rushed to the site.

They soon began the rescue operations and brought out bleeding passengers trapped inside the mangled bus. Police said around three to four people were trapped inside the bus’s cabin.

Ambulances were called in and the injured passengers were taken to the Teonthar civil hospital for treatment. Police said the passengers were on their way home to take part in Diwali celebrations.

The district collector said the accident took place around 11 pm. He said the bus full of passengers collided with a trolley truck on a mountain road. The bus from Uttar Pradesh was going from Jabalpur to Prayagraj via Rewa.

Rewa Superintendent of Police Navneet Bhasin said as many as 15 people died in the accident.

The collector said the cause of the crash could not be ascertained and police were looking into the matter.

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan condoles deaths

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed grief over the Rewa bus-trolley truck collision. He spoke to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath over a phone call this morning and apprised him of the incident.

He said the mortal remains of passengers will be taken to Prayagraj by the Madhya Pradesh government.
