Bengaluru minor girl dies after kidnap, assault attempt, Four arrested

Bengaluru: A shocking case of attempted sexual assault and abduction in Bengaluru Rural district has resulted in the tragic death of a minor girl. On October 24, a group led by the main accused, Ajay, targeted a Class 9 student who had reportedly been harassed by Ajay in the name of love.

As she made her way to school, Ajay and three associates intercepted her, forcibly abducted the girl, and took her on a motorcycle with the intention of committing sexual assault.

While attempting to transport the victim towards a remote area near Hoskote, the assailants rode at high speed, trying to avoid detection. During this reckless escape, the motorcycle crashed into a median divider, causing a severe accident in which the girl died on the spot. The suspects, including Ajay and his accomplices, sustained injuries in the crash.

The girl’s parents, alarmed when she failed to return home that evening, frantically searched for her. Unable to find her, they reported her missing at the Bannerghatta police station. Later that night, local police informed the family that the girl had been killed in an accident. Suspicion quickly fell on Ajay’s group, whom the family believed to be responsible for her disappearance.

Prompt action by Bannerghatta police led to the apprehension of four suspects: Ajay alias Manoj, Irfan, Mubarak, and Bala. All have been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant kidnapping statutes. Authorities continue to investigate all aspects of the case, focusing on confirming the planned intent to sexually assault the victim.

This tragic incident has sparked outrage and sorrow in the local community, once again highlighting the dangers faced by young girls and the importance of swift police intervention to protect minors from predators.
