17-year-old boy kills father after he scolded him for playing mobile game

A shocking incident has been reported from Surat district from Gujarat where a 17-year-old boy allegedly strangled his father after he scolded him for playing games on mobile. 

Police said they have detained the boy and sent him to juvenile home.  On Wednesday, a man was brought to New Civil Hospital by a woman for treatment. Police said the doctor examined the patient and declared him dead, said police on Thursday.

Later, the doctors informed Ichhapore police station from where the policemen reached hospital, according to a report in Indian Express. Police said they were told by the family members that the man fell on the bathroom floor and got injured.

On Thursday, an autopsy was performed by doctors of Forensic Science departments at New Civil Hospital. The post-mortem report attributed strangulation as the cause of death. Police later questioned the boy who allegedly confessed to killing his father. Police took the boy’s statement on Thursday and sent him to observation home.

“The teenager used to frequently play games on mobile phone. When his father scolded him for the same on Wednesday afternoon, it led to a heated exchange of arguments between the father and the son. Following this, the boy killed his father by strangulating him,” the report quoted N S Desai, Ichhapore police inspector as saying.
