14-year-old girl gang-raped by 8 men, over 5 days

A 14-year-old girl was abducted and gang-raped by eight men for over five days in Pune. The accused have been arrested and a case has been registered under POCSO Act at Wanwadi police station.

DCP Namrata Patil told India Today that the victim’s father had registered a missing complaint on August 31 at Wanwadi police station. The girl is a 7th standard student and had gone to railway station to wait for a friend.

An auto-rickshaw driver befriended her. When her friend did not turn up, the auto-rickshaw driver offered to drop the minor home but took her to a room in an unknown location, where he and his associates raped her.

In her statement, the victim said eight people took turns to physically exploit her over the next five days. Six of the eight accused are auto-rickshaw drivers while the other two are class IV employees in the railways.
