Maruti Suzuki to Increase Car Prices From June
Maruti Suzuki has announced a price hike across all car models from June 2026 due to rising production costs and inflation pressure, with prices expected to increase by up to Rs. 30,000.

Maruti Suzuki Announces Fresh Price Hike
India’s leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki has announced another round of price hikes for its vehicles, creating concern among buyers planning to purchase a new car soon. The company confirmed that revised prices for all models will come into effect from June 2026.
According to the company, the increase in vehicle prices will vary depending on the model and variant. In some cases, customers may have to pay up to Rs. 30,000 extra compared to current prices.
Why the Company Increased Prices
Maruti Suzuki explained that the decision was taken because of continuous inflation pressure and the rising cost of manufacturing vehicles. The company said it had been trying for several months to absorb the additional expenses without passing the burden on customers.
However, with raw material costs and operational expenses increasing steadily, the company stated that it could no longer avoid a price revision. Even after the hike, Maruti Suzuki claimed it is attempting to keep the impact on customers as low as possible.
Buyers May Rush Before June
The announcement is expected to trigger increased bookings during the remaining days before the revised prices become effective. Many customers may now try to purchase vehicles before June to avoid paying the higher amount.
The company already has a significant number of pending customer orders. By the end of the previous financial year, Maruti Suzuki reportedly had around 1.9 lakh pending bookings across various models.
Small Car Segment Continues to Lead
A major share of the pending orders belongs to the small car segment, which remains highly popular among middle class buyers. Reports suggest that nearly 1.3 lakh bookings were from small cars that fall under the 18 percent GST category.
Earlier, the company had also introduced a price protection scheme for customers who booked vehicles in January after delays in deliveries caused by production related challenges.
Earlier Price Cuts Helped Customers
Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki had reduced prices on several popular models after the implementation of GST 2.0 last year. Models such as S Presso, Alto K10, Celerio, and Wagon R had received notable price reductions at that time.
The company had reduced prices by more than Rs. 1 lakh on select variants of some entry level models, offering major relief to budget conscious buyers. However, the latest announcement signals a change in pricing strategy amid rising market pressure.
