The last time that Maruti Suzuki India launched a completely new car in the country was in September 2019 when the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso entered the market. Although the automaker did introduce a few updated models after that, there was no completely new car built from ground up.
However, Maruti Suzuki India is now ready to launch the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio 2021. Here are important details we know about the new-generation hatchback as of now. The Indo-Japanese carmaker is already accepting pre-bookings for the compact hatchback with a token amount of Rs 11,000.
The automaker has also released the first teaser of the all-new Celerio, giving us the first glimpse of the car ahead of its launch. Aesthetically, the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio is expected to sport a completely new silhouette, featuring a more tall-boy-ish design with a raised hood and all-new styling.
The model gets a new grille, new headlamps, a new bumper, body-coloured door handles and ORVMs with integrated turn signal lights. Moreover, recent spy images suggest that the car will also come with alloy wheels, new taillamps, and a rear windshield wiper. Inside the cabin, the new Celerio is likely to come with a new design layout along with a bunch of new and updated creature comforts.
It will include a touchscreen infotainment system, featuring Smartplay Studio 2.0 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car is also expected to get improved seats, upholstery, auto climate control and more. As for safety, it is likely to come equipped with standard safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking camera, seat belt reminder and high-speed alert.
Under the hood, the new generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine with segment-first Idle Start-Stop Technology. The company claims that the 2021 Celerio will be India’s most fuel-efficient petrol car.
