Casio Launches AE-1600HX Series Watches with Rugged Design and 10-Year Battery Life

Casio has officially unveiled its new AE-1600HX series, which includes the AE-1600HX-1BV and AE-1600HX-3AV models. These watches are designed for sports enthusiasts and daily users seeking durability, long battery life, and practical features at an affordable price point. Both models are currently listed on Casio’s official website and are expected to be available for sale soon, although the company has not yet confirmed pricing for the Indian market.
In Europe, listings suggest that the AE-1600HX-3AVEF may be priced at approximately 39.90 euros, roughly equivalent to 4,280 rupees, positioning the series firmly in the budget segment.
The AE-1600HX-1BV features a negative LCD with a dark background and light blue highlights, while the AE-1600HX-3AV comes in a dark olive color with lime yellow accents and a standard display layout. Both models include an LED backlight with amber illumination and afterglow, which can be activated using the front button for better visibility in low-light conditions.
Functionality is a strong point for these watches. They support dual time tracking, a 1/100 second stopwatch, and a countdown timer that can run up to 24 hours with auto-repeat support. Each model includes five multifunction alarms with snooze and hourly time signal features. An auto-calendar up to the year 2099 is also included, with the option to switch between 12-hour and 24-hour formats. The watches maintain time accuracy of approximately plus or minus 30 seconds per month.
Casio has equipped the AE-1600HX series with a CR2032 battery, capable of lasting up to 10 years under normal use. The watches are water-resistant up to 100 meters, making them suitable for everyday wear, sports, and outdoor activities. The design incorporates a resin case, bezel, and strap, along with resin glass covering the display. Each watch measures 54.1 millimeters in length, 49.7 millimeters in width, 15.9 millimeters in thickness, and weighs 55 grams.
