Young woman sexually harassed on bus, records incident and goes viral

Karwar:A disturbing case of sexual harassment occurred in Karwar when a young woman was groped by a man while she was asleep on a moving bus.

The incident, which took place within the jurisdiction of the Ankola police station in Uttar Kannada district, has gained widespread attention after the victim courageously recorded the event and shared it on social media.

The young woman was traveling from Karwar to Ankola and fell asleep in her seat. During the journey, a man seated next to her took advantage of her slumber and groped her. Upon waking up, the woman immediately realized the harassment.

In shock, she noticed the man’s hand on her chest. Without hesitation, she took out her phone and recorded the incident. Once aware, the woman publicly confronted the man, verbally rebuking him for his actions.

The video of this confrontation was shared on social media and quickly went viral, with the woman urging others to take a stand against such behavior. In her message, she emphasized that people must protect themselves and call for justice for perpetrators of such crimes.

The video drew attention from law enforcement and the general public. Following the incident’s virality, Uttar Kannada District Superintendent of Police (SP) Deepan M.N. instructed the Ankola police to launch a swift investigation and arrest the accused. An FIR has been registered, and efforts are underway to apprehend the man responsible.

This incident highlights the increasing need for better safety measures for women, with the victim’s quick thinking and bravery in capturing the act of harassment providing a crucial step toward justice. Police have promised strict action against the accused.
