Cyclone Alert: IMD Issued heavy rainfall alert in 13 states
Cyclone Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for Northeast India, warning that a cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal is likely to cause heavy rains in Assam and neighbouring states. IMD Issued heavy Rainfall alert in 13 states.
A cyclonic wind formation over Nagaland and surrounding areas above 1.5 km above sea level will bring rain in the next seven days with thundershowers expected on February 19. Northeast India, including Assam and Meghalaya, will experience heavy rains from February 15 to 21, the IMD added.

Several other states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will experience light to moderate rains. Arunachal Pradesh will witness snowfall and rain this Saturday and other parts will record heavy rain on Saturday.
Along with the cyclonic circulation, the Western Disturbance has also triggered climate changes in the northern and western regions of India. Light rain and snowfall activity is forecast over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on February 17-18, with possibility of thunder and lightning on February 19-20.
The Western Disturbance Ganga will move towards eastern regions like West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand, where light rain and thundershowers are expected on February 19-20. East Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh will experience similar weather, with light rain expected on February 19-20.

Additionally, Chhattisgarh will witness light rains from February 21-22. A Western Disturbance may affect West and Central India resulting in isolated rain over West Rajasthan on February 19 and light rain over Punjab and Haryana on February 19-20.
