Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Listed on Geekbench With New Chipset

Xiaomi is preparing to expand its flagship smartphone lineup with the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, which is expected to arrive in China this month. While the company has not yet announced the exact launch date, fresh benchmark information has added to the growing list of expected specifications.

A Xiaomi smartphone carrying the model number M610BB has appeared on Geekbench. The device recorded 3,381 points in the single core test and 10,920 points in the multi core test. Reports suggest that this could be the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.

The benchmark listing also points toward a new generation flagship processor. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the chipset for the phone. The processor itself is expected to be introduced during an upcoming Snapdragon event.

Software could also receive a major upgrade with the new Xiaomi flagship. The phone is expected to run HyperOS 4 based on Android 17, bringing the latest version of Xiaomis software interface to the device.

One of the more unusual features confirmed by Xiaomi for the upcoming Pro series is the Versatile Back Screen. This secondary display on the rear of the phone is designed to do more than show basic information. Users could be able to run certain small applications directly on the rear screen.

Xiaomi has already given examples of how the secondary display could be used. A water drinking reminder is one possible application, while the rear screen could also help users practise English vocabulary without opening the main display.

The idea builds on Xiaomis earlier experiments with rear mounted displays. Last year, the Xiaomi 17 Pro series introduced a feature called the MiShare back screen. The new Versatile Back Screen appears to take that concept further by giving the secondary display more practical functions.

Details about the standard Xiaomi 18 are also beginning to emerge. Reports suggest that the phone could feature a 200 megapixel primary rear camera. However, this specification remains unconfirmed and should be treated as an expected feature until Xiaomi releases official information.

The standard model may also receive a compact flagship style design. It is expected to have a 6.4 inch display with a 2K resolution, rounded corners and narrow bezels. Such a screen would allow Xiaomi to maintain a relatively manageable phone size while offering a high resolution panel.

Colour choices could provide another change for the upcoming generation. Tipster Digital Chat Station has reportedly suggested that the Xiaomi 18 could be available in White, Pink, Blue, Red and Black. The previous Xiaomi 17 was offered in White, Blue, Pink and Black in China.

The Xiaomi 17 series was launched in China in September last year, while reports indicate that the standard Xiaomi 18 could arrive in December. Xiaomi has not confirmed this reported timing, so the launch schedule may still change.

For the Pro models, the rear screen could become one of the most noticeable design changes. Instead of being limited to decorative or information functions, Xiaomi appears to be exploring ways to make the secondary panel useful for everyday tasks.

The Geekbench appearance adds another piece to the picture. The reported scores indicate that the tested device is being positioned around high end performance, although benchmark results from an unreleased phone can vary depending on software, testing conditions and the stage of development.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, if confirmed for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, would also make performance a major part of the upcoming smartphone. More details about the processor, memory configurations, cameras and battery are expected as the launch approaches.

For now, Xiaomi has confirmed that the 18 Pro series is coming to China this month, but pricing and the complete specifications remain unknown. The company is expected to reveal more information closer to the official launch.
