OnePlus is preparing to expand its N series smartphone lineup in India with the OnePlus N6 Lite. The company has officially confirmed that the new budget focused smartphone will arrive in the country on September 22, with battery capacity and durability being two of its key talking points.
The launch event will also reveal the phones official retail price, introductory offers and open sale details. OnePlus has not yet announced these details, so buyers will have to wait until the launch for complete pricing information.
Once available, the OnePlus N6 Lite will be sold through the companys official website, OnePlus Store app, OnePlus Experience Stores and partner offline retailers. Amazon will also be among the online platforms offering the smartphone in India.
The biggest highlight of the OnePlus N6 Lite is its 7000mAh battery. OnePlus is positioning the large capacity as a practical advantage for users who spend long hours watching videos, navigating, making calls or using their phones throughout the day.
According to the companys figures, the smartphone can provide up to 26.8 hours of video playback and up to 29.9 hours of Google Maps navigation. Voice calls are claimed to last for as long as 49.7 hours. With normal usage, OnePlus says the device can run for up to three days on a single charge.
The battery also supports wired reverse charging. This means the OnePlus N6 Lite can be used as a power source for compatible accessories or another device when required.
OnePlus has also highlighted the long term durability of the battery. The company says it can retain more than 80 percent of its original capacity after 1600 charging cycles. Based on typical usage, OnePlus estimates that the battery could remain useful for around six years.
Despite carrying a large battery, the phone has a thickness of 8.95mm and weighs around 215 grams. It will be offered in Midnight Hype and Neo Green colour options.
The display measures 6.75 inches and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. A higher refresh rate can make scrolling and compatible animations appear smoother during everyday use.
Another notable feature is Aqua Touch technology. It is designed to improve touch recognition when the display has moisture, water droplets or traces of oil on its surface. This could be useful when the phone is being used in situations where keeping the screen completely dry is difficult.
Durability is another area where OnePlus has given the N6 Lite extra attention. The smartphone is built to meet MIL STD 810H military grade standards, which is intended to provide additional resistance against everyday shocks and accidental drops.
On the software side, the OnePlus N6 Lite comes with a claimed 36 month Fluency Certification. OnePlus says the phone has been tested with the aim of maintaining smooth performance over a three year period.
The smartphone will also include several AI based tools. Photo editing features such as AI Eraser and AI Clear Face are designed to help users make quick changes to images without relying on separate editing applications.
Google Gemini integration is another part of the software package. The integration is intended to help users with tasks such as searching for information, drafting content and managing everyday activities.
OnePlus has not yet disclosed all hardware specifications of the N6 Lite. Details such as the processor, RAM and storage configurations are expected to become clearer around the launch.
