Toxic Box Office Collection Drops: Yash’s Film Sees Sharp Decline After Record-Breaking Opening

According to the latest box office figures, the film was screened in 16,241 shows nationwide and has now amassed a worldwide gross of Rs 285.20 crore.

Toxic Box Office Collection Drops: Yash’s much-awaited film Toxic continued its theatrical run on Sunday, collecting Rs 23.00 crore net across India on Day 5. According to the latest box office figures, the film was screened in 16,241 shows nationwide and has now amassed a worldwide gross of Rs 285.20 crore.

Despite the impressive overall numbers, the film has witnessed a steady decline in both daily collections and theatre occupancy compared to its blockbuster opening day. Trade analysts believe that mixed to negative word-of-mouth and reviews have impacted the film’s momentum.

Toxic Box Office Collection:

In India, Toxic has earned Rs 255.95 crore gross and Rs 214.10 crore net in five days. Overseas, the film collected Rs 2.00 crore on Day 5, taking its total international earnings to Rs 29.25 crore. This brings the film’s global box office collection to Rs 285.20 crore.

Day-Wise Collection Trend:

The film opened to a phenomenal Rs 101.10 crore on Wednesday but has seen a gradual drop in collections over the following days.

Day 1 (Wednesday): Rs 101.10 crore

Day 2 (Thursday): Rs 37.65 crore (26.6% occupancy)

Day 3 (Friday): Rs 27.20 crore (25.5% occupancy)

Day 4 (Saturday): Rs 25.15 crore (24.3% occupancy)

Day 5 (Sunday): Rs 23.00 crore (25.3% occupancy)

While the Sunday occupancy saw a slight improvement over Saturday, the overall earnings remain significantly lower than the opening-day figures, raising concerns among the makers and fans.

On Day 5, the Hindi version emerged as the highest-grossing language, earning Rs 14.50 crore from 11,734 shows across India. The Kannada version collected Rs 6.40 crore from 1,297 shows, registering an impressive 50% theatre occupancy. Meanwhile, the Telugu version earned Rs 1.40 crore, followed by the Tamil version with Rs 0.60 crore, while the Malayalam version contributed Rs 0.10 crore to the film’s overall Day 5 box office collection.

Although the Kannada version recorded the highest occupancy at 50%, the Hindi version contributed the largest share of the film’s Day 5 earnings.

With a worldwide collection nearing Rs 300 crore, Toxic remains one of the biggest releases of the year. However, its declining daily collections in the days following its record-breaking opening have become a key talking point in the box office race.
