Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Major Update: Face Authentication Mandatory Starts from Today

In a move aimed at preventing misuse and ensuring that financial assistance reaches only eligible beneficiaries, the state government has launched a comprehensive re-verification drive across Karnataka.

The Karnataka government’s flagship Gruha Lakshmi guarantee scheme has undergone a major update. In a move aimed at preventing misuse and ensuring that financial assistance reaches only eligible beneficiaries, the state government has launched a comprehensive re-verification drive across Karnataka.

Beginning August 30, officials have started a statewide door-to-door survey to verify the details of Gruha Lakshmi beneficiaries. As part of the exercise, every beneficiary must complete Face Authentication and e-KYC verification within one month. The process can be completed either during the home visit by officials or at designated government service centres.

Face Authentication Now Compulsory:

To continue receiving the monthly financial assistance under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, Face Authentication has now been made mandatory for all beneficiaries. The Department of Women and Child Development has completed all necessary preparations for the verification drive, and field staff have already been trained to carry out the process efficiently.

How Will the Verification Be Conducted?

In urban areas, Revenue Inspectors, Bill Collectors, and Anganwadi workers will visit beneficiaries’ homes. In rural areas, Gram Panchayat Secretaries and Panchayat staff will conduct the survey.

During the visit, officials will provide a survey form that must be filled out by the beneficiary or a family member. Using a dedicated mobile application, they will capture the beneficiary’s photograph, photograph of the house, GPS location, voter ID details, and complete the Face Authentication process on the spot.

Verification Can Also Be Completed at Service Centres:

If beneficiaries are not available when officials visit their homes, they can complete the verification by visiting their nearest Grama One, Karnataka One, Bengaluru One, or Bapuji Seva Kendra. Face Authentication and e-KYC services will be available at these centres throughout the verification period.

The state government has appealed to all Gruha Lakshmi beneficiaries to cooperate with officials during the verification drive and keep the necessary documents ready. Completing the verification within the stipulated one-month period is essential to ensure the continued receipt of benefits under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme.
