Poco X8 Series India Launch
Poco appears to be preparing another major smartphone push in India, with the Poco X8 and Poco X8 Power reportedly among its upcoming launches. Both models are expected to arrive later this year, although Poco has not officially confirmed their launch dates or specifications.

According to leaked information, the two phones could be positioned below the Poco X8 Pro in terms of pricing. This would give the company more options in the segment while targeting buyers who want larger batteries without moving into the premium price range.

The Poco X8 Power is expected to be the more ambitious model of the two. Its biggest attraction could be a 10000mAh battery paired with 100W wired charging. The phone may also support 27W reverse charging, allowing it to act as a power source for other compatible devices.

The display is also expected to be impressive. Reports suggest the Poco X8 Power could feature a 6.83 inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen may reach up to 3500 nits of peak brightness across part of the display, while Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and Wet Touch 2.0 could improve everyday usability.

Under the hood, the X8 Power is tipped to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, combined with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Some lower configurations could use UFS 2.2 storage. A leaked AnTuTu score of more than 1.15 million points suggests that performance could be a key part of the phone’s pitch.

Photography may be handled by a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, joined by an 8MP ultrawide camera. A 32MP front camera is also expected. The device could measure around 8.68mm in thickness despite carrying the unusually large battery.

Durability may receive considerable attention as well. The Poco X8 Power is tipped to carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. Leaked software information also points towards four major OS updates and six years of security updates, which would give the phone a longer support cycle.

The standard Poco X8 could take a slightly different approach while still offering a very large battery. It is expected to feature a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and could reportedly cross 830000 points in AnTuTu testing.

A 6.83 inch AMOLED display may again be used, with 3500 nits peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and Wet Touch 2.0 support. The battery could be rated at 9000mAh, with 67W charging and 22.5W reverse charging.

For photography, the Poco X8 is expected to feature a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 16MP selfie camera. Other reported features include multiple IP ratings, four OS upgrades, six years of security updates, Hyper AI features and Xiaomi Interconnectivity.

While the specifications look promising, they should be treated as leaks until Poco makes an official announcement. If the reported battery capacities and charging speeds are accurate, the Poco X8 series could attract buyers who place battery endurance and charging convenience at the top of their smartphone priorities.
